The Night of the Volcanos - THE MEGA event in Mendig on July 31, 2010.
THE MEGA-Event at the edge of "Laacher See" in the heart of the Eifel-Region
We invite you to take part in a MEGA event in a MEGA scenery! - Join us so that you may say: it was gigantic and I enjoyed it very much!
The biggest volcanic eruption in Central Europe 13.000 years ago formed this stunning landscape around "Laacher See", which will be the impressive scenery for the greatest meeting of geocachers in northern Rheinland-Pfalz on July 31, 2010.
The offical event "Night of the Volcanos" will take place parallel to it nearby on a seperate area.
Our MEGA event will take place 30 m over the biggest lava basement on earth. This unique cave system has been formed by exploitation of the rare basaltstones on an area of 3 square kilometres.
We offer the following to you:
- event area of approx. 3000m2 and an old factory of approx. 2200m2
- seight-seeing tour: following the footsteps of old breweries
- multi-media-presentation: „fascinating Volcanos - geotopes & biotopes in eastern Eifel“
- fun and games on the extensive ground
- GSAK - basics: we'll do our best to answer your questions
- a lot of ambitious caches in a breathtaking neighbourhood
- exhibiting companies in the sectors outdoor-equipment, climbing, geocoins and different means to create caches
and - best of all: ALL THIS WITHOUT ANY FEES (where does one find this nowadays?)!

Es ist vollbracht! Unser Event wurde nun offiziell durch Groundspeak in den Status "MEGA" gehoben!
Gebt uns noch ein paar Tage, dann werdet ihr hier auf der Eventseite natürlich noch viele Bilder zu sehen bekommen. Vielleicht sendet der eine oder andere noch weitere Bilder uns zu (oder auch Videos?), welche wir gerne auch mit auf die Eventseite stellen werden.

GSAK - Nacht der Vulkane - Kurse
Wie bereits während der GSAK Kurse beim MEGAEvent Nacht der Vulkane angekündigt, so hat der Referent dieser Kurse uns diese als PDF-Dateien zur Verfügung gestellt, damit wir diese euch allen
zum Download anbieten können. Auf diesem Wege bedanken wir uns nochmals bei Krolock für die sehr gut ausgearbeiteten Referate und für die Hilfe beim Event! Wie wir aus den Logs entnehmen konnen, so wurden diese Kurse sehr gut angenommen und kamen auch sehr gut an.
Markus Walgenbach (Krolock) hat zwei Referate erstellt. Zum einen einen GSAK Anfängerkurs, welcher sich mit Grundlegenden Funktionen von GSAK beschäftigt und zum anderen einen Fortschrittskurs, welcher zum Beispiel einen Einstieg in die Arbeit mit Marcos wiedergibt. Da GSAK äußerst Umfangreich ist, sind natürlich nicht umfassend alle "Kniffe" von GSAK enthalten, aber sollten Fragen auftauchen so wird Markus gerne versuchen für euch eine Lösung zu finden. Die Kontaktmöglichkeiten sind in den PDF-Dateien enthalten.
Nun hier die beiden Dateien, auf die ihr doch nun schon ein wenig wartet.
